but there is one thing they haven't messed up yet.
They still have a good old park brake lever in their cars, not an electronic one.
Also, 4GC

The 5, 6, and 7 have electronic e-brakes.

I think that 4GC doesn't look right. The car isn't big enough for the proportions to work. Those lines work better on the 6GC. IMHO.

I dunno, I think it looks good, that's just a really bad picture of it.
I just think of the 4GC as more of a 3-series lift-back though more than a "GranCoupe"

That picture does look considerably better to my eye. That first pic make it look like that frumpy 5 series GT to me.

The new ones will put themselves into park if you open any door while not in park (at least at low speeds, haven't and wouldn't try any faster). Particularly frustrating if trying to, y'know, park, especially not like an asshat.

Fuck that. I hate electronic shifters.

Agreed, especially because having a physical, manual connection beats electronic if/when there's ever an electrical problem or dead battery. One of my buddies who operates a tow truck for a large local company told me how one of his coworkers went on a call a few weeks ago, and the customer's new E-class (Benzes also do the BS parking thing) had a battery problem and when they tried to pull it onto the rollback truck, it was still set in park and wouldn't move (or would but all wheels locked, testimonies differ) and they had to call the dealer to figure out how to override the electronic park system to tow it, and of course it was later in the evening on a Friday when the service department was closed but the sales department was open.

A lot of things? Try just about damn near everything.
No more manuals on the 5 Series in the US except on the M5 by special order. No ragtop convertible now that the 1er was killed off. No N/A I6s. It's just a perfect storm of "This is what's wrong with the world".
